Aurora Blossom

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in knobbly, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of giant, pleated leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are blue at the bottom and lime with purple streaks at the top.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of tiny, bright blue blossoms with needle-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rich perfume.

In early summer it produces , wide fruit. The smooth grey skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy bold yellow flesh is bitter and juicy. The silver seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
