Clinging Bronzeflower

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its slate stem is very thin and straight with a curved tip, and the large, gray-green leaves are asymmetrical with serrated edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 3 to 5 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 7 cm (2.8 inches) wide, with solid bronze petals decorated with caramel lines and a hazel central disk. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 58 raised, narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a weak scent that smells like pot-purri, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
