Emerald Clump Moss

This green moss is commonly found growing in large clumps On rotten logs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly tough; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores.
