Copperwood

This massive tree grows up to 131 meters (429.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 161 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, silver and white bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.

The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with large amounts of leathery, small, teardrop-shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are copper and cyan.

In early spring, it produces bunches of tiny, pink blossoms with spiral petals. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like cinnamon.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, copper berries.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
