Turquoise Heath Moss

This slate or turquoise moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is very flimsy; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores.
