Clinging Pine

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 91 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, brown-green bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright, with dozens of twigs covered with small bunches of giant, olive and yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are soft and flexible.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, blood red berries.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
