Sapphire Willow

This big tree grows up to 63 meters (206.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 171 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in smooth, yellow bark, and inside, the soft wood is black.

The numerous branches are short and slender and are covered with handfuls of sticky, small, very narrow and elongated leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of emerald that gradient shifts to brilliant blue at the top.

In late summer it forms small, lime, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
