Zigzag Spineleaf

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This massive leaf succulent grows up to 147 feet (44.8 meters) tall. The thin stem is brown, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid slate spines. The slender leaves are either violet or sky blue, with beige zig-zags. Copious amounts of them grow on stocky, copper branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are durable, but take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 15 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with alternating petals of green and peach, with an olive central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like cheese.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the brown flesh is rubbery, and the white sap is thin.

The sap is edible and very salty.
