Copper Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This large cactus grows up to 97 feet (29.6 meters) tall. The narrow stem is yellow-green, and is covered in brittle dark green spines. The tear-shaped body is orange, and is covered in handfuls of rigid copper spines.

It is quick growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with lilac petals and a dark brown central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. It has a weak scent that smells like rich perfume.

The cactus's skin is thick, the vibrant yellow flesh is rough, and the orange sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
