Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 23 feet (7.0 meters) tall. The wide stem is brown, and is covered in handfuls of flexible cream spines. It has a straight, very thick, muted red trunk atop a thick ball of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are round and yellow-green and are short stubs.

The smooth-edged, thick leaves are found in indigo, pastel yellow and dark brown varieties. They are tough, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 15 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of pink and cream, with a dark brown central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has a soft scent that smells like cherry.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the peach flesh is smooth, and the aquamarine sap is thin.
