Burgundy Creeper

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 50 feet (15.2 meters) and growing as high as 739 feet (225.2 meters).

It takes 14 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are smooth and fuzzy.

The very thin, sticky leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are gold on the sides and bronze at the center, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces large amounts of small light orange flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of small seed pods.
