Spineleaf Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is moss green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible light grey spines. The tattered-edged, finger-like leaves are either grey, or bronze with yellow dots. Very large amounts of them grow from the base in a random bunch. The leaves are strong, and do not detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid black petals decorated with lilac dots and a aquamarine central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has a soft scent that smells like varnish.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the yellow flesh is smooth, and the azure sap is thin.
