Golden Pine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big tree grows up to 65 meters (213.3 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1817 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, angular trunk covered in ridged, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.

The small handful of branches trail down towards the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with very large amounts of giant, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are hardy.

In late summer it produces giant, lime berries.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It is said to be the favourite flower of a legendary person.
