Clinging Copper Oak

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 10 meters (32.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 641 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, wonky trunk covered in thin, knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow-brown.

The sparse amount of branches are very short and thin and are covered with small bunches of covered in fine hairs, miniature, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are red at the bottom and hazel with caramel patches at the top.

In late summer it forms large, slate, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
