Bloodblossom

This large tree grows up to 63 meters (206.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 149 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wonky trunk covered in waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is copper-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of smooth, small, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are magenta and light grey.

In early spring, it produces many clusters of giant, orange blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like blood.

In late summer it forms small, vivid yellow, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
