Burgundy Willow
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This enormous tree grows up to 113 meters (370.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 411 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is burgundy.
The abundance of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small bunches of rough, huge, pleated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid white or blue, with magenta streaks.
In late summer it forms tiny, black, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
