Heathland Pink Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In heathlands.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is overwhelmingly hardy; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
