Burgundy Hazelgrass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized, burgundy grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The thick stalks grow in thick clumps that are resilient and they spread and grow quickly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, hazel flower.

During the early summer, it produces copious amounts of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of giant grains.

The stems are covered in large spikes.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
