Twining Bluebloom

This huge shrub grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for around 38 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous flexible, angular stems covered in thick, waxy, dark green bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, long, tapering, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in sky blue and silver varieties, resilient and leathery.

In mid-summer it produces many medium-sized, dark orange blossoms with many layers of petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like varnish.

In early winter tiny long, tapering fruits ripen. The fuzzy crimson skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is spicy and savoury, and the crunchy sky blue flesh is very spicy and powdery. The blood red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
