Conioberry Tree

This huge fruit tree grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 60 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, silver and white bark, and inside, the dense wood is brown.

The sparse amount of branches are very short and slender and are covered with large amounts of giant, very thick leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are crimson and white.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, slate blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

In early summer it produces small, circular fruit. The soft bronze skin is peel-able and bitter and spicy, and the crunchy magenta flesh is salty and syrupy. The olive seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
