Waterlily Blossom

This giant flower grows up to 11.9 feet (3.6 meters) tall. Its emerald stem is very thin and straight with a curved tip, and the large, yellow or blue leaves are finger-like with irregular edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

5 to 9 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 56 cm (22.0 inches) wide, with purple petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of 7 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a faint scent that smells like a damp log, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird and is ignored by most insect species.
