Prickly Splitstem

This small cactus grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 4 spear shaped stems. Each stem is yellow-green, and is dotted with small pale green spines.

It is slow growing, taking 32 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid slate petals decorated with green dots and a light red central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. It has a strong scent that smells like warm cookies.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the pastel purple flesh is rough, and the orange sap is thin.
