Twilight Willow

This enormous shrub grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for around 65 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many knobbly, twisting stems covered in paper-thin, knobbly, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches trail down across the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of large, perforated, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are blue and lime, light and waxy.

In late summer it produces handfuls of medium-sized, vibrant yellow blossoms with pleated petals. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like mint.

In mid-autumn spherical fruits ripen. The fuzzy beige skin is thin and edible when cooked; it is overwhelmingly sweet, and the slightly crunchy copper flesh is sweet and very dry. The brown seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.
