Thornspire Succulent
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short caudiciform grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The wispy stem is cream, and is covered in lots of flexible hazel spines. It has a twisting, bulbous, green trunk atop a very thick tripod of rough, exposed roots. The branches are bulbous and grey or azure and are short, rigid and upright.
The ripped-edged, spear shaped leaves are either olive or azure, with white dots. They are rigid, and take little effort to detach.
It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are purple on the underside and brown on the top grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has a delicate scent that smells like roses.
The caudiciform's skin is thick, the beige flesh is rough, and the sky blue sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
