Emerald Mountain Moss

This emerald moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In rainy mountain ranges.
It is large, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very flimsy.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores.
