Clinging Vineflower

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its brown stem is thin and splits into 10 branching stems at the top, and the giant, green leaves are broad, flat with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are lime at the sides and cream at the center. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 33 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like fish, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
