Emerald Crescent Moss

This yellow moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In bogs, On rotten logs, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely hardy.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release hundred of spores.
