Aquamarine Spine Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The narrow stem is yellow-green, and is covered in large amounts of rigid aquamarine spines. The smooth-edged, circular leaves are red and turquoise. Small amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are light, and easily come away when pulled.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with muted orange petals that gradient shift to black on the outer edge. The central disk is violet grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like pineapple.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the violet flesh is rough, and the crimson sap is thin.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
