Twistvine Oak

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 232 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, twisting trunk covered in ridged, silver bark, and inside, the very light wood is black with white speckles.

The small handful of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of leathery, small, 6 pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are caramel with bold purple tips.

In late summer it forms giant, green aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
