Firethorn Succulent

This large leaf succulent grows up to 81 feet (24.7 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is moss green, and is dotted with small white spines. The wavy-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are a shade of red that gradient shifts to bronze at the top. Large amounts of them grow from the base in no particular order. The leaves are durable, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid light brown petals and a slate central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 27 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like burning wood.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the peach flesh is sticky, and the slate sap is thin.
