Firebloom

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 102 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, wonky stems covered in very thick, knobbly, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are short, thin and wispy that and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, broad, flat, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either yellow or green, with brown zig-zags, hardy and sticky.

In mid-spring it produces handfuls of medium-sized, blood red flowers with long, narrow petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a faint scent that smells like soap.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is said to be the favourite flower of a legendary person.
It is extremely resistant to fire damage.
