Clinging Goldflower

This huge flower grows up to 14.2 feet (4.3 meters) tall. Its lime green stem is very thick and straight, and the miniature, copper or turquoise leaves are fan-like with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 60 cm (23.6 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of gold. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like garlic, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
