Copperleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big tree grows up to 65 meters (213.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 502 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in thin, silky, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale brown.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with very large amounts of rough, giant, asymmetrical leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either florescent yellow, or black with cyan dots.

In late summer it forms large, hazel, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
