Crimson Heath Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is very sturdy; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
