Vinefruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in thick, knobbly, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow-brown.
The small handful of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of miniature, spear shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to red at the top.
In early spring, it produces thick bunches of small, dark brown blossoms with long, narrow petals. They are sturdy and have the faintest scent that smells like onion.
In mid-summer it produces , perforated fruit. The soft blue skin is peel-able and inedible, and the very soft orange flesh is bitter and dry. The lime seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
