Crimson Cubevine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its hazel and caramel stem is thin, and the miniature, blue or muted blue leaves are thick with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid crimson petals decorated with bronze lines and a green central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 46 raised, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like onion, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to bees.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
