Magenta Spine Cactus

This massive cactus grows up to 122 feet (37.2 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is gray, and is covered in handfuls of rigid magenta spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with slate petals and a pink central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotting meat.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the white flesh is leathery, and the bold purple sap is thin.
