Clinging Oak

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 425 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in cracked, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is brown.

The branches are short and thick and are covered with very large amounts of leathery, small, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either light grey or peach, with orange zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces a handful of medium-sized, light grey blossoms with 3 triangular shaped petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like leather.

In late summer it forms giant, beige, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
