Emerald Spine succulent

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is emerald, and is covered in sharp spines. The angular, red trunk can grow to as much as 5 feet (1.5 meters) in diameter at the bottom. Its lime branches are very long and thin and start growing at the top the stem.

The copious amounts of tattered-edged, long, narrow leaves are beige on the sides and florescent yellow at the center. They are delicate, and easily come away when pulled.

It is slow growing, taking 44 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with hazel petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like musk.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the turquoise flesh is rough, and the lilac sap is thin.
