Bloodgrass

This modest-sized, caramel or deep red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The slender, pointed stalks grow in thin clumps that are flexible and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, blood red tuft.

During the early winter, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
