Breadblossom

This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 40 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of sturdy, straight stems covered in delicate, knobbly, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are very long and thick that and are covered with small bunches of small, thin, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid light brown with copper streaks, flexible and leathery.

In mid-spring it produces thousands of small, yellow blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like freshly baked bread.

In early autumn tiny fan-like fruits ripen. The soft grey skin is peel-able and salty, and the soft gold flesh is bitter and sour and very juicy. The orange seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
