Caramel Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 2 wide stems. Each stem is moss green, and is dotted with small caramel spines. The cuboid body is green, and is covered in handfuls of flexible muted orange spines.

It is slow growing, taking 6 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with cyan petals and a yellow central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 curved petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like rainy days.

The cactus's skin is thin, the muted orange flesh is smooth, and the yellow sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
