Peachblossom Tree

This large fruit tree grows up to 36 feet (11.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in knobbly, light gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with small amounts of miniature, wide leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally cream.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, peach blossoms with slender, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like meat.

In early summer it produces very large, circular fruit. The fuzzy turquoise skin is thin and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the crunchy white flesh is sweet and very dry. The dark grey seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
