Emerald Shield Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In heathlands, and In rainforests.
It is colossal, growing up to 1.1 feet (33 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is slightly durable; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores.
