Whispering Willow

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 10 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several sturdy, straight stems covered in knobbly, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of miniature, wispy, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid caramel or peach, with yellow dots, hardy and waxy.

It produces clusters of giant, faded purple flowers with broad, flat petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like sugar. In mid-autumn it forms smallbeige seed pods.
