Blue Spire Succulent

This small leaf succulent grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The thick stem is bronze, and is covered in sharp spines. The smooth-edged, long, tapering leaves are washed-out blue on the sides and sky blue at the center. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in a loosely patterned way. The leaves are frail, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 12 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either yellow or copper, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of handfuls of raised, narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the dark grey flesh is sticky, and the white sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
