Giant Spear Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This enormous cactus grows up to 144 feet (43.9 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is gray-green, and is covered in handfuls of flexible slate spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of yellow grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 41 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like fresh linen.

The cactus's skin is thin, the green flesh is rubbery, and the violet sap is thin.

It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
The grains are bitter, but very healthy and are suitable for boiling.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
