Crimson Vine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This massive vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,144 feet (653.5 meters) and growing as high as 475 feet (144.8 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.
It takes 11 years for the yellow-green stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 4.6 feet (1.4 meters) and are rough and fibrous.
The wide, fuzzy leaves reach up to 3.9 feet (1.2 meters) in length. They are generally olive, and have jagged edges.
During late spring, the vine produces dozens of small crimson flowers.
