Violetzig Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The wispy stem is vivid yellow or brown, and is covered in dozens of flexible green spines. The thick leaves are solid olive with violet zig-zags. Small amounts of them grow on slender, pink-red branches that are short stubs. The leaves are delicate, and take little effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 27 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with purple petals on the lower layer and drab red petals decorated with aquamarine dots on the inner layer. The central disk is blood red, grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is shaped like a star with 12 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like vanilla.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the black flesh is sticky, and the blue sap is thin.
