Bluebell Cactus

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 4 spear shaped stems. Each stem is gray-green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible hazel spines. The round body is dark grey, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid sky blue spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 17 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with intense red petals that gradient shift to beige on the outer edge. The central disk is caramel, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of several widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

The cactus's skin is thick, the white flesh is smooth, and the blood red sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
